The Heartland Regional Medical Center Inclusive Playground is a play space universally designed so ALL children and families can play together, with no physical or social barriers.
Play is critical to the healthy development of every child, particularly for those with varying abilities.
It includes a Family Fitness Area that provides multi-generational exercise to help combat the epidemic of obesity and heart disease. Research supports that our children are more sedentary than ever before.
The budget is $350,000. We have already secured $250,000 thanks to the Marion Park District ($150,000) and naming sponsor, Heartland Regional Medical Center ($100,000).
We are launching a play campaign to reach out to our philanthropic community to raise an additional $100,000. Equipment naming and multi-tiered donor wall are options to leave a legacy and make the difference in the life of a child. Equipment is available for sponsorship on a first come, first serve basis.
If fundraising continues to go well, we anticipate breaking ground next spring and being under construction late spring / early summer. We will host a grand celebration the day we cut the ribbon.
All gifts are tax-deductible and pledges are accepted on a case by case basis.
