a. Discuss / Approve rescinding November 19, 2019 new business item 10g, transferring $700,000 to Illinois Funds.

Commissioner Gott explained to the Commissioners present that the Marion Park District was approached by Tracey Glenn and Franny Crawford with a proposal to keep the Marion Park District’s business with a Public Interest Checking account and the proposal had been sent to the Commissioner’s prior.  This meeting was called for the approval of the proposal.  Commissioner Gardiner stated that he had spoken to Commissioner McReynolds and they discussed asking Peoples National Bank to match the interest rate of Illinois Funds.  Commissioner Gott stated that this proposal was a good proposal and there would only be .25% loss of interest.  Commissioner Gardiner stated he agreed but thought it would still be a good idea to ask Peoples to match the interest rate.

Commissioner Gott stated that since Commissioner Gardiner and Commissioner McReynolds have discussed the item it would be a good idea to table the items until the meeting on January 28th to discuss it further.  Commissioner Gott can also get with Peoples National Bank for a counteroffer of the interest rate.
